FAQ: What Will The New Ofqual Exam Announcement Mean For My Child?
This article only applies to parents/carers with young people who are due to receive their GCSE, AS or A level results in summer 2021.
As you may be aware, students across England will be awarded teacher assessed grades over summer 2021.
They’ll be based on a range of evidence, including mock exams, coursework, essays or in-class tests.
Teachers will also be given optional assessment questions for students to answer.
Even though your child will receive a teacher assessed grade in the summer, they will also have the option to sit an exam for all subjects except, art and design, in the autumn.
However, the impact of Covid-19 will not be taken into account.
If your child chooses to complete an AS or A level exam in the autumn, it will be held in October 2021, while if they are due to sit GCSE exams, they are scheduled to take place in November and December 2021.
