Learning Bus

Over the past few months we have been working on a huge and exciting new project. The conversion of our London Double Decker Bus to a Learning Bus is underway and almost ready to hit the road.

This is an amazing opportunity for us to support more children and young people in communities we currently struggle to reach. It means that we are able to make a wider impact with our STEM and Coding Clubs as well as our Learning Hubs in more areas of the North East.

From painting to fitting our café units, a dedicated team have continued to pull out all the stops to create a mobile masterpiece. Here’s how we’ve been getting on:

The Journey

Buying our Double Decker bus – a lot of work was needed to reach our vision but we were prepared for the challenge.

We then started to take out the chairs and poles so that we could create an open learning space.

Lots of Cleaning!

Adding flooring and desks.

Painting was messy work!

There’s still lots more to do including wrapping the bus in vinal and fitting our café units.

We are overwhelmed by the efforts of everyone who have supported us and contributed to this whether that was through donation, in-kind support, volunteering and much more.
