We’re Well Wednesdays – Just Breathe

We’re Well Wednesdays are all about doing things to help support our health and wellbeing. Looking after our health and wellbeing is also known as self-care.

Whist so much time spent at home comes with many challenges, It also gives us an opportunity to spend time doing things we might have felt too busy to do before. Now is a great time, for example, to start collecting self-care tools and creating habits that will benefit us right now, and also in the future.

A great place to start improving our health and wellbeing is to think about our breathing.

When we feel nervous or worried our breathing tends to become faster, shorter and shallower, which can make us feel worse. However, taking longer, slower and deeper breaths makes us feel calmer.

Practicing different breathing techniques, and using them regularly, can help us feel more relaxed, more focused and even give us an energy boost. It can also help us manage stress much better.
