WRAPPING UP 2022 WITH A WINTER FAMILY FUN DAY

On Saturday 17th of December 2022, the Success4All team was delighted to welcome families to our free Winter Family Fun Day at the Carnegie Building.

The sold-out and popular event, which started at 12 pm and finished at 3 pm included a wide range of family activities including a creative writing exercise, STEM globe-making activity, festive hot chocolate making, cryptic guess who and lots more.

Families who joined us included existing Success4All service users and new families who had never accessed our services but who expressed interest in getting involved.

Of course, no family fun day event is complete without food and this time we had the wonderful Vegan by Goreti whipping us a delicious buffet which included delicious Portuguese custard tarts (Pasteis de Nata), fruit tarts, rice, quiche & more bites.

Midway through the event, our Founder, Caroline Afolabi-Deleu, gave an opening speech which was then followed by individual presentations from our three youth groups; STAND4, YAB & Tyne Tea’ers. In the presentations, they all shared with our guests the projects they had completed and the projects they are currently working on.

Speaking in front of an audience is quite daunting, but they all managed to do a terrific job.

As we wrapped up the event and waved goodbye to everyone who joined, we took a moment to cherish the connections made, the conversations shared and the memories that families were able to create.
